It was a Friday, on the 21st of September, 2007. Yeah, I know it's like so last year. But then, one-in-a-lifetime experiences never really get old, do they? You forget a lot of things as life goes by, but some things you take with you for as long as you shall live.
I had bought tickets for me and my brother and sisters months before the event. If you're going to an expensive concert, you might as well have good seats.
Chicosci was the opening act, which was okay. But then after some time the crowd started chanting "Fall-Out-Boy.. Fall-Out-Boy..". Now Chicosci wasn't bad at all -- it's just that the crowd was just too eager to see what they really came to see.
And so soon enough, Fall Out Boy came in and started with "Thriller", the first track on their "Infinity On High" album. What surprised me was that it seemed everyone knew the lyrics of the song (they hadn't released it yet). It was a great choice for an opening song, but what really set the tone for the night was the second song, "Grand Theft Autumn (Where Is Your Boy)". As soon as Patrick sang "Where is your boy tonight? I hope he is a gentleman..", every was one their feet, singing their lungs out, and the seats were all forgotten.
They pretty much played every single one of their hits, as well as unreleased fan favorites off their three albums. They also covered a song from Akon, Greenday and even Michael Jackson. Though I wish they had played "Calm Before The Storm" and "XO", it was an overall satisfying experience for me, especially since I got to share those rare moments of near-chaotic bliss with my siblings.
