surgery

I have not been hospitalized ever.  But in a couple of months, I'll have to lie down unconsious while a doctor cuts out my tonsils, then wake up in a different place, probably with an IV on me.

It started a little over a month ago, when I got this feeling that a small morsel of food is constantly stuck in my throat.  I tried everything to take it out, but all I could do was just ignore the feeling.

After about 2 weeks of the irritating feeling, I got worried and went to the doctor, and found that my tonsils were a bit larger than normal, which probably caused the unnerving sensation in my throat.  I found out that such a thing happens when you frequently have tonsilitis or other throat problems.  And that enlarged tonsils don't usually shrink back to normal size.

And they haven't.  And so I'll be undergoing tonsillectomy on January.  The doctor says we don't really need our tonsils anymore, and the procedure is quite short.  The recovery however could take up to two weeks for adults. *sigh*

@cza: yup, mas matagal daw pag adults kasi malalaki na yung blood vessels. Not to mention masakit un after ng surgery..and super sakit daw if you forgot to take your pain meds (every 6 hours). :-S
